Dear
Parents,
Welcome
to The Stables Nursery.
We
hope that the time your child spends with us will be
both happy and beneficial.
The
Nursery is managed by Susan Mann and Avis Richardson
(owners) who have 28 years experience of looking after
children. The Nursery employs a large team of qualified
Nursery Nurses plus full time and part time assistants.
The
Stables Nursery is a private Nursery under the supervision
of Ofsted. We have regular inspections and details can
be obtained from the local library.
We
care for children of three months to school age, including
special needs children, and we endeavour to create a
warm, secure and bright environment where, through play
and creative activities, children will grow in confidence
and develop to their greatest potential, but more importantly,
be happy!
We folow the "birth - three matters" guidelines
The
Stables Nursery is situated on Galleywood Common offering
ample opportunity for the children to learn about wildlife
and all aspects of the countryside. During the spring
and summer months we will take advantage of our beautiful
surroundings and use the common for nature walks and
picnics.
There
is a hard based area where children can have bikes,
dolls prams, push cars and sand pit and water play.
There is a secure fenced garden area with mature trees
in which children can play and explore. Our under 2's
have their own separate garden to enable them to play
safely away from the energetic activities of the older
children.
To
meet standard 3 of the National Standards as required
by Ofsted, we at The Stables Nursery offer excellent
opportunities to promote the Foundation stage and
we hope the following information will be of interest
to you.
Our
role at The Stables Nursery is firstly, to make our
children feel secure, valued, confident and develop
a sense of achievement through learning which is pleasurable
and rewarding.
We
have a close liaison with parents and we hope that parents
feel free to see us whenever a problem arises.
We
encourage our children to participate in a wide range
of activities which take due account of their physical,
intellectual, emotional and sociable abilities.
We
encourage our children to think and talk about their
learning and develop self-control, independence and
care for each other. Children's progress is assessed
and observed through frequent observation and monthly
reports are issued to the parents.
Early
indentification of particular needs in a child leads
to appropriate action being taken.
We
have links with our local 'feeder' school and our staff
exchange visits from time to time.
The
environment in which our children learn has adequate
space, facilities and equipment and is always organised
with regard to Health and Safety.
We
are inspected by Ofsted and qualify for our parents
to receive a grant termly for all 3 and 4 year olds.
The
foundation stage promotes the following areas of
development:-
Personal
and Social Development
Children learning how to work, play and co-operate with
others, including the development of personal values
and an understanding of self and others.
Language
and Literacy
This focuses on children developing competence in talking
and listening and in becoming readers and writers.
Mathematics
The understanding and foundation for Numeracy. We focus
on achievement through practical activities and on using
and understanding language in the development of simple
mathematical ideas.
Knowledge
and Understanding of the World
Children developing knowledge and understanding of their
environment, other people and features of the natural
and made world. These encourage later learning in History,
Geography, Science and Technology.
Physical
Development
Our children learn to develop physical control, mobility,
awareness of space, manipulative skills, indoors and
outdoors.
Creativity
The development of imagination and ability to express
ideas and feelings in creative ways. This is also linked
to literacy and children's physical development.
Parents
are always welcome to come into the Nursery and contribute
from their own expertise and culture.
We
believe that at The Stables Nursery we offer well balanced
care, love and education for all the children.
We
pride ourselves on the standards set at the Nursery,
continually updating our staff training. Our staff are
dedicated and reliable. This includes our qualified
Infant Teacher and Music Teacher.
If
any more information about our setting or a copy of
our Ofsted report is required, please do not hesitate
to see us
Best
wishes

CLOTHES
Please
send your child in clothes that do not matter. We have
a good supply of 'spares' so that in the event of a
child needing a change, we are well prepared. We do
however find that some children become upset when changed
into unfamiliar clothes. If you feel that your child
is likely to experience distress of this nature, then
perhaps a spare set of clothes left with us is the answer.
Would
you please send a pair of Wellington boots with your
child, as wee are certain that we will find puddles
to splash in on our walks. We sell our own range of
Sweat Shirts and Tee Shirts which can be ordered from
the Office if you are interested. They do save the wear
and tear on home clothes and also makes it easy to know
what to dress your child in each day.
If
your child is not yet toilet trained would you please
provide your own supply of disposable nappies.

person is collecting your child, please inform a member

is our main concern so your full co-operation is requested
in this matter.
Each
child has its own Password, chosen at your discretion
as an extra security measure.
Please
not a non-smoking policy applies throughout the Nursery.
